Online filing and iXBRL
HMRC and Companies House have released a joint news bulletin. The combined effort covers the subject of online filing and use of iXBRL (Inline eXtensible Business Reporting Language). The alignment allows for a single platform to be used for filing, thus making the filing process comparable and as easy as possible. The intention is for returns submitted to HM Revenue to use this platform by April 2011, similarly Companies House intends to implement by summer 2010.
