Stand out from the Crowd
The event this year will be aimed at all new members and new FCCA’s from the past year. ACCA would like to congratulate those on obtaining there membership by organising a flagship event in London to celebrate this. Key note speaker Jeff Grout will examine the topic of “Taking charge of your own career”.
With now almost 2 million people unemployed in the UK the event will cover some of the following factors:
• what’s really going on in the job market
• how to make the Recruitment Consultants work for you
• be proactive and contact employers direct
• getting connected- networking your way to your next job
In the coming months the numbers of unemployed are predicted to rocket to over 3 million by the summer. Experts believe that as many as one in ten workers could be laid off if the government fails to kickstart the economy. However, accountants have key skills – risk management, cashflow and working capital management, forecasting, budgeting – that are in demand. Nevertheless, with fewer job opportunities, competition will be fierce and the majority are not properly equipped to mount an effective job search. Areas that will be examined include understanding the current job market, looking at the skills in demand that organisations want, briefing your recruitment consultant to get the best out of them, as well as learning how to “sell” yourself.
Jeff Grout will offer practical advice, ideas and fresh motivation to those wishing to make a career move.
